YELLOW FUNGUS:HOME SOLUTION |WHAT IS YELLOW FUNGUS?

Yellow fungus initially develops by the presence of moulds (a kind of fungi) within the environment. Yellow fungus, also called mucor septic, may be a mycosis , which as per experts doesn't generally occur in humans but in lizards. The treatment for COVID-19 includes steroids and immunosuppressants that leave the body with weak immunity. Yellow fungus might not start from the lungs but it invades internal organs of the body and affects the whole functioning. As far as its severity and risk factors are concerned, like all other infection, yellow fungus are often severe if not treated early.

What causes of yellow fungus?

Humidity levels below 30-40 per cent can promote the expansion of fungus. The main reason behind the expansion of the fungus is poor hygiene. Stale food also can cause the expansion of fungus

Symptoms of yellow fungus:-

Weight loss, reduced appetite, lethargy are the common symptoms of yellow fungus infection. It may be dangerous, but the main target should get on its prevention. But if not detected in time, symptoms can become more severe including pus leakage, sunken eyes, organ failure, slow healing of wounds and necrosis (cells within the living tissues die prematurely).

Till now The only known treatment for yellow fungus is Amphotericin B injection, which is an antifungal drug also getting used to treat black fungus.

Precautions to take

Here are some precautions that one must go for protect themselves from yellow fungus: 
- Keep your house and surroundings clean 
- Do not consume stale food 
- Keep the humidity within the room under control. Too much humidity can promote the expansion of the fungus. Try to maintain cross ventilation. 
- COVID-19 patients should start their treatment as soon as possible so that complications like yellow fungus don't arise.

Diet low in sugar, yeast, refined carbohydrates, and mold-containing foods. Probiotics from yogurt, fermented foods, or supplements. Non-prescription antifungals, like oil of oregano, garlic, and grapefruit seed extract. Prescription anti-fungal medications (recommended by some practitioners, but not all).

Is yellow fungus more dangerous than white and black fungus?

The yellow fungus are often treated easily when detected on time. But because it arises within the body, the detection and treatment are often delayed. It can even cause organ failure in many people. Though there's yet no clear study or data by experts to present a definite figure on the deathrate .
